Meet the Librarians
Mrs. Carmen Schickert This is my seventh year as librarian in Gretna. My first six years were at Thomas Elementary. Before this, I taught 4th grade for 12 years in Gretna as well. I absolutely love being in the library and having the opportunity to work with your children. I grew up in California, but have lived in Gretna now for 18 years with my husband Lance and my two sons, Mason and Nick. Both of my sons are in college, one at UNO and one at Doane University, in Crete, NE. We have a spoiled German Shepherd named Gunnar. As a family we love to travel, spend time together and play games. I, of course, also love to read and discuss books! I am very excited to be the librarian here at Harvest Hills. Getting to know your children, helping them find books that interest them, researching topics and answering questions are a few of the things that I love to do daily. We have many great things planned for this year including an author visit, a One District - One Book program, book fair as well as many other activities. If you ever have any questions or need to reach me for any reason, my contact information is as follows: [email protected] |
Mrs. Alicia Hoffman
This is my second year working for Gretna Public Schools. However, it is my first year in the library and I am so excited! Last year I was a Kindergarten/1st grade para at Falling Waters Elementary and I had so much fun working with the children. Before I working in the schools, I ran my own in-home daycare for ten years. I have been married to my husband Aaron for 14 years and have 3 children. Dylan is going into 6th grade, Evan will be in 4th grade and Olivia is going into 1st grade. They will attend Aspen Creek Middle School and Aspen Creek Elementary. When I am not at school, I am usually at a ball field of some sort. Between baseball, football and basketball, the kids keep up busy! In the little free time I get, I enjoy reading, gardening, cooking and baking! I am looking forward to working in the library and sharing my love of reading with all of the children at Harvest Hills! |
